For today\u2019s Foster Friday, we turn to Uzzy to speak for himself . . .<\/p>\n
I\u2019d like to introduce myself. I am an 11-year-old Borzoi with some grey on his muzzle who still has a lot of interest in sticking around and trying out dog beds for some time to come. I do have my challenges, I must admit. First, I was recently diagnosed with Lyme\u2019s disease. I am on a 30-day course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. I am already feeling much better. I am a bit unsteady on my feet, but my foster family thinks some gentle exercise, some good food and that medicine should help in that department. The vet said I only have \u201ca little\u201d arthritis in my back legs, but I\u2019m still best suited for a home without a lot of stairs.<\/p>\n
I have a cataract in one eye, so I am half blind \u2013 or half seeing, whichever way you want to look at that glass of water.\u00a0 At 67 pounds, I really need to put on a few. My foster family is seeing to that pretty darn quick, like yesterday! I have pretty awful teeth but I\u2019m probably not a good candidate for doing much about them. Maybe I could stand to do some brushing and flossing though!<\/p>\n
I am very quiet. I am clean in the house. I get along fine with other dogs and cats. I\u2019m told I\u2019m very sweet. Oh, and I still have my original equipment, which I have no idea how to use. At some point, I will be re-evaluated for possibly doing something called \u201cneutering,\u201d but it\u2019s possible that may be water under the bridge at my age.<\/p>\n
